Flattop Mountain
Hikes in the Rockies
•
Adventure, Short Films, 01-Nov-2021
Roundtrip Length: 8.8 mi Difficulty: Strenuous
The view of Flattop Mountain begins interestingly enough at Bear Lake looking nothing like flat. What we see is the craggy side of the mountain where the trail fortunately takes a few twists and turns on the way up. Fortunately because the views from the overlooks are spectacular as we look across at Longs Peak and down onto the lakes below. Not particularly difficult but long and strenuous, if we take our time and replenish our energy the very flat summit is a wonderful place to ponder a continuation someday on to Grand Lake.
