Andrews Tarn
Hikes in the Rockies • Adventure, Short Films
Roundtrip Length: 10 mi Difficulty: Strenuous
Andrews Tarn and the magnificent Andrews Glacier are found at the end of one of the more difficult and equally breathtaking hikes in Rocky. After leaving the Glacier Gorge trailhead and the short hike to Alberta Falls far behind, you will eventually pass Loch Vaile where you have a choice to proceed to Sky Pond or to take a somewhat less obvious right turn and begin a steep climb through stunning alpine scenery. Be persistent and you will arrive where a small lake is being fed by a true mountain glacier.
